IGNOU M.Ed DEGREE CERTIFICATE RECEIVED
Today (28/01/2019) I and many others in my batch (who wrote the final exam in DEC 2016) finally got our M.Ed degree certificates through registered post. The beauty is the Original cert is dated 2017 but sent to us only in 2019. Such a slipshod work by the nation's premier distance education institute IGNOU

HOW TO INTERPRET ANNA UNIVERSITY RANK LIST
DEAR STUDENTS/PARENTS.
Anna University has released the ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE OF AFFILIATED COLLEGES list -How to interpret these data? Also, how to and how not to select an engg. college.
* Firstly, the list is not a rank list in terms of QUALITY, INFRA and other parameters; it's just a STATISTICS OF PASS PERCENTAGES.
* Also, a college needs to be consistently performing well - for eg., the topper in the list (APR/MAY 2014) has never crossed 50% in any other list. So one needs to look into the lists of a few years.
I will provide the lists as well as some important other article links; finally, I leave it to your interpretation and consideration before taking any decision.
THE LISTS:
NOV/DEC14-PASS PERCENTAGE APR/MAY14-PASS PERCENTAGE
NOV/DEC13-PASS PERCENTAGE APR/MAY13-PASS PERCENTAGE
NOV/DEC12-PASS PERCENTAGE APR/MAY11-PASS PERCENTAGE
(APR/MAY12 and NOV/DEC11 LISTS are not available)

PG TEACHERS KALPAKKAM VISIT
On 30.04.15 (Thu.) about forty PG teachers (mostly Physics & Chemistry Teachers but a few Biology and Economics teachers as well) from TIRUVALLUR (& PONNERI) districts had the good fortune to go to KALPAKKAM and visit the IGCAR (Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research).
We were given an intro by Mr. Kapali of the Training School, who also received us heart-warmingly. We were then taken around all the sections of STAGE II and thoroughly explained by Mr. MANJUNATH. We then went to RML (Radio Metallurgy Lab) and also to the KAMINI reactor. Finally we got a clear grasp of what is happening at ION ACCELERATOR LAB with wonderful explanations by Mr. SUNDARAVEL.
To be honest, it was a once-in-a lifetime opportunity for all of us and we got enriched by the knowledge we gained from IGCAR; also most impotantly, the visit gave us the faith on nuclear energy - in fact, the people at IGCAR feel that it is us, the teachers, who can be the ambassadors to project nuclear energy in good light among students and also motivate the students to join IGCAR or BARC one day.
The whole visit was meticulously planned and executed almost single-handedly by Mr. MURALI of DRBCC, Tiruvallur. Each one of us owe a great deal to him. Mr. Gnanasekaran gave the vote of thanks. Also special mention and thanks should go to Mr. Ramu who guided us from right from start to finish in our IGCAR visit.
